Setting Up Your Business

A text-based walkthrough to get your subdomain, catalogue, and POS operational in under 10 minutes.

01. Activating Your Subdomain

Every business on Webyt exists on its own isolated subdomain. When you register, you choose a Subdomain Name (e.g., heritageshop). Your store will immediately be available at heritageshop.webyt.shop.

Activation Checklist:

  • Provide legit and verifiable business information.
  • Verify your email address via the link sent to your inbox.
  • Login to your Admin Dashboard to begin the 15-day free trial.

02. Managing the Catalogue

Webyt splits your inventory into two distinct types. Understanding the difference is key to how your POS functions.

Physical Products

Items like clothes, soda, or electronics that have a finite count.

  • Requires SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
  • Inventory Tracking enabled
  • Auto-disables when Stock = 0

Professional Services

Time-based offerings like consultations, repairs, or bookings.

  • Set Duration (e.g., 60 mins)
  • Bookable on Storefront
  • No physical stock required

03. Storefront Branding

Your Storefront is fully dynamic. From the Display Settings in your dashboard, you can control the visual identity of your business across all customer-facing pages.

The Customization Engine

Colors

Set Primary (Buttons/Accents) and Secondary (Badges/Sections) colors.

Themes

Select from Retail (Marketplace), Organic (Soft), or Noir (Luxury) templates.

Identity

Founding year, Tagline, and Business Logo placeholders.

04. Mastering the POS Terminal

The Webyt POS is built for speed. It integrates directly with M-Pesa via the Tuma API for a "No-Cash" workflow.

The Checkout Flow

Search for products or services in the terminal. Add them to the basket. If it's a walk-in customer, you can optionally capture their phone number.

M-Pesa STK Push

Select "M-Pesa" as the payment method. The system triggers an instant PIN prompt on the customer's phone. The POS will enter a "Waiting" state.

Automated Callback

Once the customer enters their PIN, Webyt receives a secure callback. The sale is marked as PAID and a digital receipt is generated instantly.

05. Billing & The Purge Protocol

Transparency is our core value. To keep the Webyt engine fast and cost-effective, we enforce a strict data policy.

Annual Subscription

KES 3,500 per year

Billed once per year. This covers hosting, SSL, M-Pesa API maintenance, and unlimited catalogue storage.

The 30-Day Purge

If an account remains unpaid after the 15-day trial and 15-day grace period, our system executes a Total Purge. Your subdomain is released, and all data (products, orders, images) is permanently deleted from our servers.
